Be sure to add 50/50 mix of coolant/distilled water to bring the coolant overflow jug back up to the proper level. If the air wasn't bled from the bleed valve when the coolant was put back in during the install, there may have been trapped air in the system that caused the overheat situation.

I agree with Kevin and Macster on the quick learn proceedure; although there are provisions on the DRBIII scantool to do this at the dealership if it was dealer installed.
