Now that they are going to leave off the bigger turbo as part of the kit...$1,200 would be a very high price to pay for Stage 2. You are only talking a couple of sensors and a few more switches over what you get in Stage 1, are the sensors and switches worth an additional $800 over the Stage 1 price???

I took the same approach originally when trying to size up the cost VS additions. I still agree, for the most part.

However, the PCM will have to be "updated" with a few more inputs and outputs to handle the switch functions

OR

More likely, an additional controller will be included that will communicate with the PCM via the PCI bus. In this case, the new controller will interface with the Turbo Toyz and will get it's marching orders from the PCM via the PCI bus.

My understanding of the communications structure is that the SCI bus is the input/output path to the PCM from the outside world. The PCI bus is the input/output path between the various controllers (ABS, Airbag, Cluster, SKIM, Security system etc.) and the PCM.

If there is any merit to that guess, then the addition of a controller that would interface to the Turbo Toyz switches would be the most cost efficient and would not require a redesign of the PCM input/output structure.

Again, if that is the case, the cost of this contoller would have to be factored in, along with the switches.

I would take a wild guess and say that the retail would be in the $800.00 to $1000.00 retail range, with the possibility of $200.00 to $300.00 rebate for Stage I cores. This would put the price for Stage I owners between $500.00 to $800.00. This would be a price range that should carry on the tradition set by Stage I pricing. At $800.00 retail, it would stay within the $100.00 per 5 hp gain set by the Stage I pricing. With the entire $300.00 cost of the Stage I kit rebated, the $500.00 price tag would be enticing for Stage I owners to upgrade to Stage II. At $800.00 you could go straight to Stage II and get approx 40 hp gain at one shot, without having to get the Stage I first.

Again, this is all speculation, and we won't know the actual make-up of the upgrade until the actual finished Stage II product is introduced. It is fun to speculate and make some guesses.....
