Default Suspension Techniques Sping Install

Well today I put the Suspension Techniques springs on my 03GT with 3800 miles. They are 1.3” drop F/R. Really not that big of deal to put in, spring compressors are a little scary for a guy that never used them before. All in all took about 4 hours or so in a garage, jack stands, and sears floor jack. I did most of the work but had a set of hands and guidance when needed. (Thanks bro) While I was at it, I installed KYB GR-2 struts and corresponding rear shocks. I am no wrench but I am cheap, when I went to see how much a garage would charge me to install the springs they wanted 180.00 to change out all four. Well that just justified the strut and shock price.

Anyway it was worth it to me, the ride is wonderful, the drop is enough for me as I did not want a kidney breaking ride. It corners better for sure! It closed the wheel well nicely. Have to run it a bit and then have the alignment checked. I have the cam bolts for the strut if needed when I go for alignment.

I am pleased but I only drove about 15 miles of highway so need a little more time behind the wheel to give a fair evaluation. My initial feeling is I could have saved the money on the KYB GR-2 struts and shocks. I just don’t know yet. I can say I love the springs though and it gave me that mild drop I was looking for, the MX-4 snows are not even close to being tucked, but the gap has lessened for sure. Should look good with the 17” Chromes when spring breaks here in PA.
