As far as i know i am the only PT without the BS (balance shafts that is). It is hard to give a good gauge on vibration increase because I do not have a stock engine; the idle has a bit of a lope to it due to the Crane #14's.
My observations:
1. The BS assembly weighs about 14 lbs, so you save a little weight
2. It does free up a little power due to less drag on the crank snout
3. It allows you to add ~1 more quart of oil. This is good.
4. If you remove them you should add baffles and gates to the oil pan to control the sloshing of the oil during certain conditions
5. It does add a little bit of engine vibration at idle. Everyone's view on this varies.
6. Once you start moving, that little vibration is non existent.
