my bov is still on backorder. does it make any improvement in performance or just sound good?
THE stock bov is a recirculating one and sends back pressure towards the turbo which slows it down causing turbo lag and eventually will mess it up. The mopar bov and other aftermarket bovs vent into the atmosphere, you won't have turbo lag and your turbo will last longer. Without turbo lag you will get better response which is an improvement in performance and the sound is really cool. You'll love it!
Also, the factory BOV recirculates thru a 3/8" hose that is over a foot long with a U-turn, making a bottleneck, That is the main reason you hear "flapping" noises at the turbo intake when you remove the air silencers.

With the MOPAR BOV you have four 1/4" holes venting to the atmosphere for total of a 1" exhaust, there are no lines to create a bottleneck so the turbo won't loose it's inertia and recover real fast. Since I installed it, the "flapping" noises are gone.

This is what happens when you increase boost and don't have a good BOV:

If you increase boost and don't have a good BOV, when you let go the Accelerator, the excess boost will create a return wave stalling the turbo impeller or even reversing it for an instant. This creates incredible stress on the fins and in many cases, the impeller explodes and throws shapnel to the engine.

I learned this the hard way with a GN...
