If a downpipe isn't a minor mod, there is no such thing. For an STi, it IS minor and it IS cheap. And it doesn't matter if the STi doesn't come with the low-end toque of the V10 since we're talking about MODDING the STi. You'd be hard-pressed to find a turbo car that comes with the low-end grunt an STi has (low-RPM), and it's a BEAST when modded. Also, even fully modded, it'll outlast the life of that Viper motor, so it's money better spent.

Since we're talking about modding an STi, it's a moot point when comparing to a stock Viper. I know you guys like the Viper but I'm sorry...you can mod almost anything to beat a stock Viper. V-10 is only the arrangement and number of cylinders. It says nothing of reliability or the potential it has, when stock, against something completely different. If you guys hung in the WRX crowd, you'd see some crazy powerful cars that would EMBARASS a Viper and probably wouldn't doubt me as much then.
