You are correct sir, a 3/8" hole has .11 sq.in. as opposed to the .19 sq.in. w/ sum total of the (4)1/4" holes you previously mentioned.
I used to ask if one would rather have (2)8" pizzas or (1)12", most would pick the (2) 8".
12"=113 sq.in vs. (2)8's=100.5 sq.in.
Oh well, I'll be glad when my BOV arrives and is installed.
