Rodrun,

With the original tires, you can get into spinning pretty easily, especially if you are not going dead straight. You do have to be getting on it pretty hard though, above 3/4 throttle for that to happen. I have upgraded my tires to Yokohama ES100's and that has made a big difference, but I can still spin them if I try. The key to the best launch, especially at the strip, is to load it up at about 1/3 throttle while holding the brake. Upon green light, release the brake first, and then when you get going a little, let 'er rip! I have gotten a 2.16 second 60' this way. You cannot do a complete power stall take off and keep the tires from smoking. That would take at least drag radials or better yet, slicks. That is one of my next upgrades for the drag strip. BTW, never launch hard when racing with Trac Control on. A lot of the wheel hop problems that have been reported have actually been the brakes jamming on to prevent spin. Feels just like wheel hop, but it is not. I haven't made it to a 1/4 mile strip since Stage 1, but my best 1/8 to date is 9.41 @ 73.87 MPH. Not too bad with the auto-stick!
