Default i knew it

So ever since i bought the car about a month ago there has been this annoying little cable hanging from the panel underneath the steering column. I knew it had to be a connection for a laptop beacuse of the coax connector that was attached to it. Well, there was no real easy way to remove the wire without tearing the entire dash apart so i clipped the connector off, traced the wire as far as the fusebox and cut it there.

Today I decide to play monster garage again and tear my dash apart to add a pair of polk audo 4" coaxials to the dash. I knew the factory tweeter location had a 3 1/2" hole so i was going to have to enlarge the hole with a dremel. Turned out to be a 5 hr project, but i did manage to get em installed and they sound great[?]. only downfall now is the dash speaker overpower the factory mids in the doors, that'll be my next project.

anyway, as i go to pull the tweeter from the driver side theres a black plate covering part of it, just kinda laying in there, so i pick it up to move it and realize that was connected to the wire i clipped the other day. well, turns out it was a gps receiver/cell antenna,[|)] DOH!!!!!!!!! i could have kicked my own a$$ for cutting that wire now. the future system in the car which will be running on a pc includes GPS, i needed a GPS receiver and i cut the freakin wire...well all isn't lost all i need to do is get a new coax connector and hopefully i can repair the cable.

oh and i would recommend anyone wanting a big improvement in sound to replace the $0.99 factory tweeters with a decent coaxial or even just some decent tweeters. got those polk audios on ebaymotors.com for $18, brand new still sealed[:X], they retail for $80 a pair
