Well, let's see.
A 2003 PT Cruiser GT Turbo is $23,430.00 US. With a 1.37 conversion it is
$32099.10
A 2003 PT Cruiser GT Turbo is $27,870.00 Cdn. With 15% tax (Ontario only) it is
$32050.50
So with no tax on the US price AND one of the highest tax rates in Canada @ 15% for Ontario, the GT Turbo is still cheaper here in Canada. I know, I know... it's not significantly cheaper in this scenario but you have to consider these important factors.
-that most states charge tax, price listed above for US price is without tax
-Ontario has one of the highest tax rates in Canada
-the exchange rate to purchase US funds is 1.3825 as of today's writing on tdcanadatrust.com
This is only one example. I'm sure if you looked it would be the same in almost every case. Just some food for thought...
