The most common problem with automatics is the torque converter, lock-up converters tend to get REAL hot and disintegrate under stress. Usually it happens over time..... you gradually notice that 2500rpm uphill is 50mph, and 2500rpm on the flat is 60 or 65mph....then one bright sunny day when you are driving to pick up the kids -BANG- the tranny eats itself for no apparent reason.

I wish that they would consider the Getrag 5 speed in th SVT! (Why purposely make more ANGRY customers?)[xx(]
