I have the gauges that you are talking about.
I have the Cobalt Auto meter gauges. They are not Mech, but are all electric. My boost gauge has a map sensor, and we spent 2 days playing with it and it would not work.
After a call to auto meter we found that what Redman was saying is right.
It needed a constant hot power source. After that it worked fine.
I currently have the Boost (With Vac), Oil Press, and Air Fuel gauges (need to get this one wired up soon). Being that they were not Mech gauges, it made running the lines a lot easier.
If I can borrow my friends digital camera, I will show you where we mounted the map sensor
and what they look like.
