Beacon, The remote on/off lead for the amplifier either energizes a relay, or a low power electrical component in the amplifier. The load of the amp is handled on the Constant +12v battery lead. I have a tri amp setup, all 3 reomte on wires are connected together in the amp array, and 1 wire connecting all 3 leads to the switched on 12v source. In my case I used the switched lead on the head unit. In any case I have used 1 5A fuse on that lead and it works fine. There is no high current load on the remote on lead, so you will be safe wiring it to any switched 12v source. BTW I have over 800 watts of amp power turned on remotely this way. (see the last pic in my signature 3 amps located below the 2 12" subs) The 12v battery lead carries the load, so wiring that is a different animal. Especially in my case........
