Here's some oil filter stuff you might find interesting. My wife's '02 uses a Fram PH3614 which is the same thing as her 3.3L New Yorker used. However, on it I used a Fram PH43 which is about 50% larger. (had some in the garage) This is the short filter for 5.2 V8s in the old rear wheel drive 5th Avenues. The longer version brother, PH8A, was used on DCs back to at least 1960 and will screw on anywhere a PH43 will....if you have room. If you don't like Frams, these filters cross over to all major brands.

For her drain plug, I used the screw-in type that has a poppet valve like tire valves. You have to screw another piece on it to open it and that part has a 6" piece of hose to help aim the oil. For additional protection, there's a brass cap for it between changes. I got it at O'Reillys.


And NO cracks about a 6" hose for aiming!!!
