YOu guys should post this in the detail section / I just happened to stubble on it. Crewzin in on the right track. clean the area, although the term polishing and compound covers a huge assortment of products. go with a cleaner, Mine, P21S/ Meguiars any of them will do, Mine is in the middle in terms of aggressiveness. I would not wet sand, way too risky. I don't even like to wet sand, so easy to cut through the clear. after you paint clean, the swirl remover will "fill in" the scratch for a while. But after a few washes it may return. Thats why if its through the clear,buffing by a pro might be needed. Its hard to say without seeing it. But try the wash/paint clean/ polish and seal route first. let us know how it looks. Gary
