Default The good, the bad, and the mods...

So this past Saturday night, I watched as a car coming down a hill and a curve towards me totally fishtailed, tried to over-correct, and did a full 180 as it was coming towards me. Car was pretty much totally sideways as I swerved as best I could on a wet road to try to get out of the way, but the guy caught me on the rear driver side, behind the wheel.

After cleaning it up a bit and getting the white paint from the other car off, it looks like there's a chunk taken out of the rear bumper that I don't think will be able to be fixed. Also, I think that the top part of the bumper, where it locks into place, has been broken as well. So it's off to the body shop some time soon for a checkup.

The good news, this whole thing could have been much worse. If I hadn't swerved at all, or had not been paying attention, I would have hit him head on right into his passenger door.

The bad news, whatever the damage, it's gonna cost some $$$. This shouldn't be too bad, though, as the dude has already said he wants to pay for it and not go through insurance.

And the mods.... If it does need to be replaced, should I go with a new rollpan instead of replacing the factory bumper? Possibly throw in the additional $$ myself?

What do y'all think?
