Catch can should be in-line with the PCV hose, hopefully to allow gas to travel through the hose and prevent oil from making it from the crankcase into the intake. Those of you who have emissions checks must not dump the crankcase vapours to atmosphere or you get fined when you do the e-check. Believe it or not, burning the crankcase gases is/was the biggest emissions reduction ever discovered.

yet many manufacturers of catch cans say not to put it in the pcv lines, perrin for one...
