I'm installing a set of Goldline lowering springs on my '03 GT. In a thread on springs in another forum, there is much comment about alignment kits. Some say do install, others say don't bother. Can someone please educate me on these?

Is this a product relevant only to fwd cars? I've had several rwd cars on which I've installed lower/stiffer springs, progressive mostly, and have never had any mention of alignment kits. After install of the springs, wouldn't an alignment take care of the problem rather than installing another kit?
