Hmmm. If my service monkey told me that, I would first fend off the need to just go ahead and smack him. Then I would have to ask, "You did not even know how to install a BOV kit and now, suddenly, you are an engineer?"

After I made an appointment to have the PCM swapped out (TSB) and the lash adjusters replaced, I called back to see if they could throw on the Mopar BOV too.
"A what?"
(further explanation)
"Oh! Lemme call ya back."
He called back and told me that noone there has ever done that and he asked me how to install it. [)]

Mmmmmmkay...bubba doofus over there is not touching my car.

This "sticky lifter" problem has me a little concerned. Unleashing the dealer-monkeys on it scares the hell out of me. [}]

I guess I should be thankful that their ineptitude was readily apparant over the phone rather than having seen it after any damage was done. Everyone has nothing but bad things to say about the two dealers here--yes, both "5-star", which must mean the stars they get on their foreheads when they "dun good". (heh, that was my BOV venting there)

So, given this, I think I have formulated a system that will work for me. I, King of Verbosity, have changed my mind. (Are you listening ladies? See, it does happen, men can change their mind. )

Given the useless and dangerous technicians and since anything beyond washing your car and changing the oil will effectively void your warranty, the warranty, therefore, is worth as much to me as Worldcom stock is. Oh, and they do not loan customers cars while warranty work is being accomplished.

I have the same service and diagnostic manuals as they, I appear to have no less experience as they, have access to the cool and knowledgable people on these PT forums, I can buy the tools, and have access to a full auto shop with tools, hydraulic lifts, and certified mechanics who can assist. My aptitude in mechanics is as strong as it is in electronics (I am an Electronics Engineer gone Computer/Network/Communications Engineer), have a 140 IQ, am terribly meticulous, and have a curiosity that rivals cats. I cannot see how I can do any worse. And if I do, you guys can bail me out.

So...the system..."Here's the TSB, gimmie my parts." heh. [8] I am open to suggestions on implementing this master plan.

Lash adjusters: $10 ea. Peace of mind: Priceless.

Since the warranty went from being of primary importance to me to "what warranty?", when is Stage 2 supposed to come out?

I wonder if I can find a DRBIII on eBay...lol

psshhhhhhhhhh...
