Because the PCM automatically goes into open loop with a very conservative fuel/timing strategy.
You can get 37 degrees timing advance up to 85% throttle angle. At that point, it drops to a maximum of 24 degrees advance. This is why the PT can run 87 octane with a 100hp NOS shot.
The NOS is on a WOT switch. It cannot spray with the timing advanced beyond 24 degrees total advance.


I do not just throw a system on an engine. This is the kind of research, along with dyno tuning, that separates the professional tuners from the hacks.
