Dull Paint
I had my car at the dealer recently for some unexpected body work. They replaced the front fender. I just noticed two problems. First, the paint is dull in a small area along the vertical gap between the front fender and driver's door panel. I didn't notice it before because it depends on the lighting. It looks to me like the body shop was too aggressive with a buffing wheel. The dullness is mainly on the front edge of the door, not on the fender. Secondly, when I open the door on the side that they replaced the fender, sometimes I hear a sound that wasn't there before. It's from some black foam-type of inserts that I can see when I open the door and the front edge of the door is rubbing again the black foam which doesn't seem to stay in place. I have to push the foam pieces back into place almost every time I open the door. Perhaps the dull paint spot is from that problem and not a buffing wheel burn. Any comments before I go back to the dealer?
