I had a real problem opening the hood this morning also, I thought the cable was going to snap,it's smaller than the one on my kids bicycle, managed to get it open but it would not latch when closed, had to pry the spring clip back into place with a screw driver to get it to close. Seems like the grease or oil used in the cable (or lack of) does not like the real cold. I'm going to check around to see if any lube can handle -40C temps.

My car is parked uncovered facing Lake Ontario, can't blame the poor thing....

The only reason I opened the hood was to try to thaw out the frozen windshield washer fluid.

Thats it, I'm building a garage!!!
