I just traded in a 2000 Stratus ES, V6, full power, moonroof, leather, autostick, 6 disc CD changer....the works. Bought it new Memorial Day weekend in 2000 and had 49,000 miles when I got rid of it. The biggest thing to go wrong with it was the battery died with 35k on it, just before the warranty expired. Roadside assistance picked me up, took me to the dealer and they dropped in a new battery. Other than a fog light bulb burning out (also replaced under warranty) that was the only problem.
So why get rid of such a good car?? Well, this part won't make me real popular around here, but my dad is a retired Chrylser Exec and he still gets his two company cars a year and the opportunity for immediate family to purchase with a discount. He got a letter from Chrysler offering an additional employee rebate on the PT and called to let me know about it. The deal was just so smokin' good I couldn't pass it up. My warranty was expired (3/36 back in those days) so I jumped on it.
Took some getting used to as the driving position is so different from "regular" cars, but this baby is just so darn cool! It will suck the headlights out of my ol' Stratus, the stereo is much better, I love the leather and suede interior, and, well, this baby is just so darn cool! Chrysler can redesign it, kill it, whatever. I've got mine and.....this baby is just so darn cool!
