If I remember right "pipe" and "tubing" are measured differently.

Pipe is measured on the ID...and tubing is measured on the OD. Hence your 2.5" exhaust tubing has an outside diameter of 2.5". When you say Mopar is really selling you a 2 3/8" system that is not really correct, because the "OD" is 2.5" just like they say it is. If you measure your stock GT exhaust system you'll find it measures 2.25" OD so you really are jumping up a quarter inch in diameter.
