Since this is the first time I was coming into to the dealer with all my mods, I was wondering how they were going to treat me. With all my engine mods (BTG strut tower brace, Airaid CAI, $20 catch can, & chrome covers), I thought they were going to hastle me about them. For instance..
I believe some of the things covered in the 6K is...
1. Fluid check/fill - since I have the strut brace, it's a little bit hard getting to the brake cylinder fluid to fill it. The same with the filling the engine coolant, but not as difficult.
2. Inspect air filter - No need to inspect the air filter, since it's an aftermarket.
3. Inspect exhaust - Although I have Mopar exhaust, it was never installed by Chrysler. I wonder if they inspected it anyways.
4. Inspect hoses - I have the $20 catch can in between the line from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. Also, there is some oil in the catch can, which I never removed.
5. Rotate tires - Glad, since I was probably wearing out the front tires due to my lighting up the tires.
6. Emissions testing - I'm not sure what is involved here, but I don't think my Airaid or $20 catch can is C.A.R.B. approved, though my Borla is.
I can't remember what else is involved, but after speaking with the tech, he said that everything was fine. No problems. When I brought it in, I asked for any TSBs for my vehicle, which the service manager said there were none. I was just afraid of having them flash my Stage 1 PCM.
Anyway, as I said, I wondered how they would treat me. I thought they were going to turn around and say, we can do most of the inspections due to the aftermarket mods or say that the mods were affecting the wear and tear of other parts. I was already preparing myself to read them the Moss-Magnuson act. I just never had the chance.
I know I could have done most of the stuff myself, except for the oil change, since I get them for free for the lifetime of my car. Anyway, I wanted to test the dealer out to see how they would treat me. So far, their 5 star rating is fine with me
