The exhaust from the BOV is well before any fuel is introduced into the system. I have had mine on since last year when they first came out and have never experienced that issue. Also, the intake for the heater is on the exterior of the engine compartment below the windshield. Unless you have removed the rubber seal you should not be getting any odor from the engine compartment into the interior.

Having said this, the fuel odor is not something to ignore. You need to find the source as this is an explosive situation. Fumes are even more volitile than raw gas.
