Actually you have missed a good time to break the engine in with some good ole redline shifts. Shifts depend on your mood, your need for speed and whether you like to attract attention to yourself.

For just cruising around 3000 upshift is OK. About 4000 you start to feel the turbo working. From there on up it justs gets better and better. The electronics won't let you over rev the engine (unless you do something really stupid like try to downshift into second at 110 mph).

Shifting at 4000 is not going to harm her.
