I usually shift around 3100 from 1st to 2nd, 2700 to 3rd, 2500 to 4th, 5th if its ever need around 2500. Usually that gives a nice ride and save some gas.

My father suggest to me that I shifts up at 3000 RPMS for a turbo 4 banger. Said, "I'm not doing any favors for the engine and make it work harder." Makes sense, since most of our torque is from starts kicking in after 2800 RPMS. I did his suggestion, and the acceleration was much better obviously, but my fuel economy droped []. I went from 26 MPG doing my usually shifts (see the 1st paragraph)to about 24 MPG for my fathers ways.

For my break in period, I kept it easy for the first 300 miles. Added a few 5500 RPM freeway merging runs up to 1000 miles. 1000+miles I started to gradually drive a little harder, but need to preserve the engine for another 5 years
