I can't help on the trailer, but as far as tires go, the
Yokohama AVS ES100 seems to be one of the better tires
to go with. They run about $100 or so in the stock GT
tire size (205-50R17) on tirerack.com. Only bad thing
about them is that they're a summer/fair weather tire.
If you get lots of snow or rain, you should probably get
something else.
