225/45-17, 225/40-18, 235/40-18 are all close to the stock tire O.D.
The biggest limitation for tire height, is the front spring perch. Look into the front wheelwell of your car and look how close the tire is to the perch. You'll have a better understanding of the limitations of you see/feel this with your eyes/hands.
