Default Eibach Springs

Just got the total bill on my PT suspension repair....slightly under $800, even with the dealership giving the new CV/Axle on warranty.
Here are the facts:

Only 55K on the odometer
MODS
Dealer installed rear sway(stock)
Eibach springs within the first 1K
Koni adjustible shocks at 5+K
Yoko 215 X 50s at 25K

REPAIRS
Blown out CV Joints Both Axles
Blown Front bearing one side
Blown bearing housing (same)

Is this what we should expect when we use a product (Eibach) that is supposedly the best engineered of the batch?

Is the engineering so marginal on the PT that lowering the front suspension 3/4 inch makes it this fragile?

Lots of guys are talking about getting their value out of our PTs by driving them a for a while.........will the PT even last long enough to make the 5 year payoff? (I'm only a year and a half down that road.)[8)]
