Lowered PT's with side pipes do have a ground clearance problem. Even with 2 1/4 inch pipes, you are going to have very little clearance between the bottom of the pipe and the ground.

The turbo is quieter than the NA PT so you should be able to find a muffler that works. Actually, the FlowMasters that I have heard on NA PT's sound good and the owners like them. There are several models with different sounds and it really is a matter of personal choice. What sounds good to one person will likely sound terrible to someone else.

I love the looks of side pipes, I just don't think I would try putting them on a lowered PT.
