it only has to be done when the trans is rebuilt or has parts recplaced or the controller is replace. it is not needed when intake or exhaust is replaced.

Thanks for the feedback....coming from a DCX tech this means a lot! I wonder why the instructions don't mention hooking up the drb3 (whatever that is?!) but are so specific about doing it on the road. Maybe my local dealer isn't so dumb after all. (still, they insisted S1 for an '04 included new injectors)
