Glad it all worked out for you. I would have replaced the OEM shifter cable bushings with "Booger Bushings",
http://www.boogerracing.com/ , for a more positive shift (gets rid of the rubbery feel). And I would be concerned if I found one of the shifter cables just happen to come off. Once the bushing locks in or snaps in, it shouldn't come off that easily.
If you like your Cueball that much, just buy an 3/8-16 insert and epoxy it in or contact Bruce Roosa,
http://www.koolknobs.com/ , and ask him how much an insert would cost or send it to him and he'll do it for you. Bruce, Koolknobs, custom made my 2 1/4" round shifter balls. All I did was supply the pins and paint (to match the color of my PT) and he did the rest and added some swirl. Only cost me $25 a knob. Click on this link to see the knobs he made for me:
http://groups.msn.com/PTEChatRoom/sc...oto&PhotoID=12 . Now that you have a threaded shifter shaft, you can use whatever shifter ball you want.
