Thumbs up A bad day just got better

Hi there,

Yesterday afternoon as my daughter and I were driving home from the grocery store, the windshield of my PT Cruiser was hit with a large rock from a Tractor trailer traveling in the opposite direction. After I calmed down I did a u-turn and I followed the truck until I could get behind it to write down the licence plate number. I then followed it for another 15 mins until I was able to pass it and writer down the company name. I then called my insurance company and they sent me to Apple Auto glass to see if it could be repaired or if it had to be replaced...just my luck the crack was to big to fix so I now had to pay the excess ($300) The guy at the shop was great and he got it down to just $150. So I called the Transport company and explaned what happpened and to my surprise I got a call back this afternoon and they are going to pay the $150. I am really happy as my Husband thought that I was off my head to even think about calling them. It just goes to show there still are some good people out there who will admit they were to blame.

Well, I have to admit, I am pleasantly surprised that they did this. Good for you. I know here in SK. I have full glass coverage as part of my insurance.

Regards
Terry

I'm in Houston and they are doing MAJOR construction on I-10 i had a few ding/chips in my windshield and one cracked....split right down the center my insurance company sent someone out to my house and fixed it .... they told me ANY time there is a ding or chip to call them....and they will repair it...and IF it splits they will replace the windshield again if necessary

and NOPE my insurance didnt go up....they are reparing the ding/chips free because they dont want to have to replace the WHOLE windshield....

BUT I actually like the newer glass better, becasue it has the "tint" on the top and it looks nice
