Heard it was normal that the DRLs go off when the turn signal is engaged.

So no need to bring it to the dealership to check it out?

I had a car following me the other day from one of my clubs. He had added DRL's and I noticed that his lights went out when he put his turn signals on. When we got to where we were going I asked him about it and YES he said that they were supposed to go off when turn signals were engaged. Just confirming what others have said.

Yes, this is what happens...I quizzed my dealer and the thinking is that when you are turning (using your signals) having the driving light go out makes the turn signal more visible to oncoming traffic. It is kinda funny though.

Here in Canada, with my '05 Cruiser the driving lights are just the turn signals at a brighter intensity, same with my '00 Grand Caravan.

Regards
Terry

Thanks Terry. Im also in canada, (Niagara Falls) it makes sense now to make the DLR's go out to make the turn signal brighter. i appriciate your input. as well do you drive yours in winter? im thinking about NOT doing it. what do you do?

Thanks Mikey, I'm in Regina, SK. I only bought my PT on the May long weekend so it has not seen any winter driving that I know of, other than sitting on my dealer's lot and only driven to move the car for snow removal.

I bought it basically as my summer transportation or toy depending on how you look at it. As you may know the prairie winters are pretty brutal and I still have my 2000 Grand Caravan Sport to drive in the winter if I choose. At the moment my plan is to put the stock wheels and tires back on once the snow flies in another month or so and take it out on the nicer winter days just so it doesn't sit all winter.

Regards
Terry
