Default No more PT's for Canada

I'd posted previously regarding wanting to buy a new PT Cruiser as my car was totalled by a jerk who made a left turn right in to me.I have been to my local dealer in Ontario who seemed to have no idea where the 2008 PT's were.
He said he'd get back to me but never did.I then contacted Chrysler Canada,Here is my query and their answer.

Original Message Follows:

Brief Description:
Where are the 2008 PT Cruisers?
Comments:
Hello. I would like to purchase a new 2008 PT Cruiser. There are no 2008
PT
Cruisers available in Ontario.I have emailed Chrysler Canada previously
on
this matter.I was told to speak to my local dealer. My local dealer
said,and
I quote"Gee,I don't know why we don't have any,I'll get back to
you."That
was a week ago....I am a Chrysler employee and am furious that this is
the
response I get from both Chrysler Canada and the local dealer. It is
beyond
my understanding that a multi-billion dollar corporation has no idea
where
their products are. Are you not selling this vehicle in Canada? Michael
Diamond

Dear Mr. Diamond:

We have received your email of January 1st, 2008 regarding our PT
Cruiser vehicle line.

The determination to manufacture and sell a particular vehicle line in a
given market is based on careful study of market conditions, and may be
affected by numerous factors, including production capacity, material
availability and customer demand.

Valued feedback from customers such as yourself is an integral part of
this process. Due to the number of variable factors involved in vehicle
development and production, as well as matters of industry competition,
information regarding current or forthcoming vehicle models cannot
always be provided prior to introduction.

However, your inquiry will be placed on record for our ongoing process
of product development. Authorized information regarding current and
future vehicles is made available through periodic updates to our
website, and through our product information line at 1-800-361-3700.

Further, to be kept up to date with our new products and promotions, we
recommend subscribing to our eFamily. To do this, you may log onto our
website at Chrysler.ca - Cars Minivans SUVs in Canada - Home, select any brand and vehicle, go into
?owners? and then click on "Join the eFamily".

Thank you again for your interest.

Correct me if I have interpreted this wrongly but it does appear as if the 2007 model PT will be the last sold in Canada.

i think he probably means... at the moment there is no 2008 PT in canada and ask you to check website updates.

He didnt want to give specific answer or promise anything ... diverting you to website and hotline.

Maybe you try check out other private car dealers see if any of them import 2008 PT.

Hi,
There is no such chrysler dealer in Ontario, that is a U.S dealer.
You gave a link to Chrysler U.S.
Try chryslercanada.ca there are no 2008 PT Cruisers listed at retailers tho the web site invites you to build one...thanks for trying though.

What a weasel-worded letter! Why couldn't they give you a straight answer?
I would be angry if I got such a reply.

Vagueness is any companies party line. Leave wiggle room and leave any statement open for interpretation. If you make specific statements, then you are bound by them. These letters are the norm for any Car manufacturer, or any large company in general. welcome to the lawyer-heavy legal loophole new millenium.

Unhappy Re: No more PT's for Canada

From the answer, I think the question was accidentally routed to one of our Congressman/women!

With the way our dollar is right now you could always pick up one in the States and save a bundle too. You'll need to check with your local border crossing about what you'll need to do. I know the one thing you'll have to do is make sure that it has an immobilizer on it, as you're not allowed to bring vehicles into Canada that don't have that. Not that they help any!
