Default Winter Advanced Driver Training @ TMP 08/09

TMP Advanced Driver Training – Winter - 2009

Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP), Cayuga, is pleased to announce its Advanced Driver Training (ADT) Winter Program. Participants will use their own car with tires that best suit the conditions of the season.

The ADT Winter curriculum is simple, a full day of classroom instruction, exercises (braking, accident-avoidance, skid-pad), and controlled lapping with an in-car instructor. The emphasis of the Program will be to improve your driving skills, enhance your confidence, and increase your experience whether you are a Novice, Intermediate or Experienced driver. The first date is November 15, 2008 and the number of participants for each day is limited.

Safety is paramount at TMP. The venue is safe, flat, and technical. All instruction is done by experienced high performance driving coaches. Extreme control, care and caution will be observed by all.

Toronto Motorsports Park is located near Cayuga, just south of Hamilton, Ontario. This developing Motorsport complex can be configured as two small circuits of 1.2 and 1.8 km each or one large 3 km road course. We will use the 1.2 km Formula Reynard 2000 circuit with good run-off room, no barriers and excellent sight lines during slippery conditions.

3) November 29th, Saturday

Default Re: Winter Advanced Driver Training @ TMP 08/09

I see that the Advanced Driver Training is continuing at TMP, and am wondering if anyone has taken any of their courses? As a youngster I was quite the daredevil in my '65 Valiant that could drive through anything better than a tank but for the past 32 years I haven't done any driving under winter conditions. I might need to refresh my skills and have contemplated taking a formal driving course since I'm nearing 60 and my reflexes aren't as sharp as they were at 20. Either that, or store the PT in the barn.

Anyone take the course? Or have others they might recommend in the Grey-Bruce (Owen Sound-Kincardine) area of Ontario?

Thanks.
