Default Anyone else with winter driving woes?

All i have to say is that our traction control is more like crap control! It really does nothing, i can do better with it off and feathering the clutch. And my good-for-a-years are terrible in snow, even more than i expected...i keep going around turns and end up having to use the handbrake to keep from clipping curbs at 30km/h!

I have to agree concerning the Goodyears. I have a base 2002 so no intervention wanted or is anticipated on acceleration or braking. That's also the reason for the 5 speed. I'm on my first year with a set of BFG Touring VR4s. So far so good. The only problem is I haven't found a spot to safely test the breaking point in snow. I'll have it figured out just in time for summer.

What did you drive before? I didn't find the PT bad in snow, and traction control kept the wheels from spinning excessively. I hated the Badyears, but they weren't that bad in snow, just wore out way too fast for me.[:I]

I agree with Don. My GT handled well in the snow and traction control really helped. When the time comes I will look for tires that grip better. With Stage 1 and Stage 2 coming I will need tires that grip the road better.

ha ha ha, Punch i agree on the hand brake turns! Those are always a blast. As for what car i had before? I had a VW GTi 337, the ASR system kicks our traction controls @$$ !!!!! I was actually quite confused with the GT, considering it is such a heavy vehicle...

you should have got a warrenty brochure with them, and they are warrentied through goodyear not chrysler.

you can take the car to a goodyear service centre and they will give you the scoop.

What happened to the VW??? It's best not to ask, lets just say it had an unfortunate encounter with the guard rail

There are some pics of "my baby" from last january that was actually the same night i got in the accident.
