Default 29000 km service

Ok just took the PT in for its 29000 km service here in good ole Mississauga (Toronto) Canada

WOW pricey

They did a lube n oil n filter
Tune up with plugs and two filters
rotate and balance tires
Brake inspection
OH fixed a tire had a nail in it..
Recall of power steering hose thingy (LOL)
Clean and service rear brakes
Shampoo engine

Total Labour 299.75
Total Parts 67.48
GOG what ever that is 11.00
Misc 15.99
TAX 59.14

Total $453.36 Canadian Funds

I think thats a lot for a car with only 29000 km on it...

but I must admit the brakes dont make a noise anymore,, and seem a bit more peppy .....

SO ya just know I had to wash it on the way home another $10.69

OK I HAVE VENTED I feel much better now LOL

TWO filters- air & oil? Air filter at only 29,000 KM? Can't hurt, but at those prices you could have K&N oil & fuel filers & synthetic oil.
The labor is very steep - sounds like 3 hours work - 4 if they are slow....

All you needed was plugs & oil filter. 1 hour tops. Others are piece work, i.e. brake inspection is REQUIRED to be free by the dealer.

Balance and rotate is ALSO required to be free for Ontario Chrysler dealerships.

There would be NO servicing on rear brakes at 29k. If there is, there's something wrong with the car. Is it a GT, i.e. is it rear discs or drums? If it was noise, I can pretty much guarantee they sprayed the dsics with brake cleaner.

Recall is NO CHARGE by law. Shampoo they use at Chrysler is garbage anyway, and shouldn't cost more than $10.
