Default 1/28th Scale PT Bodies...

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this but figured some on here might be interested...

I have been racing RC for years now (pretty much all my life) but there has been one scale of RC that I have stuck with for the past 12 years. 1/28th scale RC is just the best in my book... I've never had an event rained out, I've always had a track to go to (RCP Track Systems) and I've always had a great time running these little cars!

The Kyosho Mini-Z is the best in my book, and I can't think of an event at this scale that hasn't been won by a Kyosho chassis.

Anyways, Kyosho America just put these AutoScale Bodies on sale and it's the lowest price I've ever seen for an AutoScale:

MINI Z AUTOSCALES, Page 2

You're just getting a body in a display case, if you want a chassis to drive the thing... you gotta buy a ReadySet or chassis/radio combo.

A stupid question - what are the dimensions of a 1/28th scale model PT?

I'm guessing about 6 inches front to rear and about 2 1/2 side to side. Is that close?

Looks sweet! Too bad those little cars cost so much. I'll stick to my 1/10 scale. More car for the money

7-8" x 3" roughly... bit smaller than your typical 1/24th scale.

Ran 10th scale for years... got tired of:

Rain days.

Watching guys with trailers of stuff pull up to the track and whine when things don't go their way.

Local tracks changing classes and rules just to make $$$ selling gear.

Tracks closing up.

Sponsored guys going through cases of foam tires in one day and I'm using a set from last week. (too much money)

Only being able to tune at the track. (not a prob when you have one in your basement! )

Don't knock it til you try it... check some PNWC videos on the Tube, you'll see some excellent racing!

I am not into serious competition, just go to the local track and have fun. And I love people getting wide-eyed when I bring my vintage RC10

Vintage all right! That was the first chassis I had when I got serious about racing RC! I'm pretty sure that car is in a box in my nephew's basement right now... collecting dust.

VanillaVert...bad bad!!!!!!!!

Some of these forums and threads are a real bad influence!!!

I use to race every week and this was not a cheap hobby. It was in the late and early 80's when all the RC stuff was just becoming interesting. RC 10 and the GrassHopper.

I almost bought the PT body you showed just to have and thought "what am I doing"?

Auh the glory days!!!!

InfernoGT hey lookie there we have something in common! "Kool" car!!!!!!

I have no idea if I can even find pictures of mine?

I am beyond the help of any rehab... but this addiction keeps me out of trouble.

The one pic is just my Mini-Z workstation in my bat-cave... the other RC stuff I have is in scattered piles around my place.

And I'm not nearly as bad as some I have met!

Glad to see people know what this car is!

I agree, Nitro. A VERY expensive hobby... of course not as expensive as our PT's

I am currently doing a resto-mod theme on the car (While not making any permanent modifications to the car). But vintage parts are hard to come by. For romping around I bring my traxxas slash, but when I have the track mostly to myself, I enjoy racing the RC10 around. Here are some photos under the "hood"

Current electronics setup, but before the above pics were taken:
