Default Champion #470 / RE14MCC5

FYI......Not sure if I am allowed to post this here but the dude has 8 plugs for $8 shipped and said he would do even better pricing if a larger quantity was bought. I bought two sets.

He's selling them cheap so he doesn't get stuck with them.

A TSB came out in March 2004 alerting the dealers to change to a new plug, the RE16MC when doing tuneups on all previously produced PTs and to use them from that point forward on all new PTs. The TSB also recommended that the plug wires be changed during the first tune up when the plugs are changed. This was to prevent concerns of a possible high secondary ignition voltage flashover, caused by a thermal set of the ignition cable spark plug boots to the old style spark plugs and then using the old boots (cables) on the new plugs.

I use and have used on my 2005 GT PT Cruiser for the last several year Champion #470 gaped at .042.

During the first usage of them I tested with an oscilloscope to determine the best optimum gap. Also several dozen WOT hot pull plug inspections.
I have used these spark plugs with Nitrous Oxide and have 50 + 1/4 mile runs using them without failure.

I had one spark plug that the insulator was broken but still ran for a few hundred mile that I had inadvertently broke attempting the failed short cut of changing the spark plugs on my plastic intake without removing the upper portion for safe access during the procedure. Wont use that short cut again.

I just purchased 6 boxes of these after reading this thread and the report of them available on ebay.

I get mine normally from RA but in this case the ebay free shipping makes it a single item purchase cheaper. I suppose if you have a large enough order of other parts through RA it may balance out? I would have to see from a few of my RA order with plugs on them?

Dahoopd once again good find and thanks for sharing it with us!!
