It is a nice PT Cruiser.
Normally I would not post what cars IMHO are worth but I would say keep it or contract with one of the companies that deal in Hot Rod, antiques, and custom cars and good luck.

Had you tried to sell it about 10-15 years ago you may have got your asking price but I dont see that happening now.

Oh you may want to wash to engine and dress it a little?

Hi mooniac!

That is one FINE looking PT!

You were building your custom PT back when I was building mine and hundreds of others were investing A LOT of money in their PTs.

Here is a list of of what can be seen and unseen, but probably on your beauty.
For everyone seeing this list, keep in mind, these prices are much higher than todays used (e-bay) prices.

1. 2005 GT------------------------------------------------------$25,000
2. Mr. Mikes custom leather upholstery------------------------- $1,200
3. Custom paint--------------------------------------------------$4,000
4. Custom side pipes-----------------------------------------------$750
5. Triple pod and three gauges------------------------------------$500
6. BTG air intake system-------------------------------------------$250
7. Fender port holes-----------------------------------------------$130
8. Front and rear light covers-------------------------------------$125
9. Hood props------------------------------------------------------$100
10. Chrome gas cap-------------------------------------------------$80
11. Exterior lock guards--------------------------------------------$55
TOTAL---------------------------------------$32,190

I'm sure there are some things I missed especially in the interior, but folks as you can see his figures are realistic when you consider he was buying everything "NEW".

As far as what you'll get for your beautiful PT, I'm afraid that you'll never get what you feel is the right number for you. I feel for you because I and many, many other owners of custom PT's are in the same boat.

Good luck with your sale!!!

almost forgot to mention it has 5100 miles on it, still has the new car smell.
the tires are original and hold air but should be replaced, the car is flawless and in showroom new condition, I have spent close to 35k on this car, I'm thinking about letting it go if I can get about half what I have into it. I am in vero beach florida
for a $17,500 car listing those three photos you posted are almost good for nothing. please help yourself out and get some more useful photos so prospective buyers can see what they're getting.

also realize, cars are depreciating assets 99.99% of the time unless they are an extremely desirable, rare supercar or collectors' car. if you watched barret jackson auctions even rare collectors' edition cars that just aren't desirable don't even make it passed there reserve auction price.

a 50% devaluation for a 15 year old, undesirable car is unrealistic. the market believes PT cruisers are undesirable, why they go for so cheap. even a 15 year old mercedes benz S500 or even the S600 are selling for less than 10% of their sticker prices, at todays current market value.

Recently a mint condition 2003 GT was selling for $3,300. That's 13.2% of retail. Perhaps yours can be a little higher since it's in great shape and low miles, but likely no more than 25% .

Recently I sold a 1993 Honda Civic with 200,000 miles for $7,000, and the buyer had it shipped across the country for delivery. Reason being it was having a K20 engine swap and could do 12 second quarter miles all motor. The exception here is the automotive enthusiast community believes highly modified honda civics if done correctly have a high market value. compare at most stock examples of this model car with similar mileage sell for $500.

According to Blue Book, retail value for a 2005 GT is between $4199 (fair purchase) to $5149 (suggested retail), high Blue Book is $5370.

Using NADA, clean retail price is $5112.

If you plan to hold out for $17K, you will need someone to really fall in love with it and see that much value in your GT. From the 3 pics you added, I don't see that happening soon.

Try a little harder to actually sell it to us and maybe one of us here can really help you out.

Meet us half ways with at least a few more pics, interior ones too. Be specific if you have noticed any issue. Can't be all rainbows and unicorns.

Thanks for the info guys. As far as pics The car is in the corner of the garage under a cover and due to home remodeling I can't easily get to it. However. It is just like new. Not a scratch or flaw inside or outside or underneath the car. This car was never even driven over a puddle of water. Set your expectations high and you wont be disappointed. Pics hide many minor flaws. This PT has none. So basically it really is like new. If theres any real interest in it combined with an acceptable offer I will be happy to take any pics if you ever wanted a new PT back in the day. This might be your last chance. I have no need to sell it, I just don't anticipate using it. And could use the space. Thanks again

Forgot to mention the timing belt was replaced back in 2012. Not the water pump just the belt.
