Default 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Convt w/ turbo

https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/6054412794.html

http://www.ebay.com/itm/142333622128...84.m1555.l2649

I have a 2005 PT Cruiser Touring Convertible with a Turbo (for sale).

$2,400.00 in pro-active maintenance in the past 8 months, so it will last for another few years.

New rear struts, new spark plugs/wires, newer tires/alloys (come with Discount Tire replacement tire warranty), newer brakes, the turbo runs great and doesn't leak, the PCM is 6 months old (so all of the usual idiosyncrasies that PT Cruisers have, have been resolved). The convertible top looks like new and works perfect. I have a Chrysler RB1 NAV "Alpine" stereo I am going to install in it (comes with 2013 maps).

Has no issues. In great shape (and is ready for the summer). I am the second owner. I have the Carfax from when I bought it and all receipts for maintenance since I bought it. I'd trust this car to go to California and back.

108,000 Miles

$4,250 or best offer. Reason for selling, my wife passed away so this car is one vehicle too many for my driveway (I am keeping my 2008 Sebring Hardtop Convt.).

Nice PT. Should have no trouble selling it. Has the timing belt been replaced?

As far as I know, the Timing Belt and the Water Pump are original (I don't have maintenance history prior to me).

I've replaced the PCM, multi-function switch, crank sensor seal (that was REALLY expensive), rear struts, plugs/plug wires, alloys/tires (and made sure it isn't leaking anywhere).

VIN is verifiable via ebay listing (link was provided) where someone can run a carfax to get maintenance history.

Yeah, not knowing about the timing belt is going to be a great negotiating point for a savvy buyer. You might be surprised by not getting offers near what you're asking. Of course, the world is full of the unknowing buyers too!

I have received over 4 questions on ebay about it, 120 views, and 4 are watching the listing. I have also received an offer (close to what I am selling it for) and have countered with a counter-offer.

I have provided full disclosure regarding this vehicle on the listing and regarding questions sent to me.

As for "unknowing" buyers, I will be sure to tell any prospective buyer that the Water Pump and the Timing Belt were not replaced by me and remain an unknown regarding the original owner. I think I am being very above board regarding this sale.

Sounds very fair to me. Good luck on your sale. Please let us know how it goes.

I absolutely will do so.

Being that I am the site admin for the CSCC (Chrysler Sebring Convertible Club), I make it a point to try to be a part of the car community.

When I picked up this gem last year, I didn't know how much my life would change after my wife passed away (so unfortunately, I didn't come to this forum nearly as often as I wanted to).

When I was at Carlisle last year (the Chrysler Nationals), I was floored by how few PT Cruisers were there (I also noticed a large reduction in tic tacs..... aka Dodge/Plymouth Neons)...... and how many Challengers/Chargers WERE there. Our Sebring/200 Convertible Club is starting to see the effects of Chrysler abandoning our market as well (the last 200 Convertible was the 2014 model year), and the replacement is the Fiat 500 vert (not something to get excited about).

It's just a shame that the PT Cruiser couldn't have been resurrected, the Dart was discontinued, and the 200 was discontinued (all that may be left of FCA by the end of the decade might be Dodge/Jeep/Ram.

A shame.

Sorry for your loss.

All you can be is honest, and sounds like you have been.

Very nice 'vert, good luck with your sale and hopefully someone will give it a good home.

Still for sale.

While I cleaned it up for the sale, I noticed a slight drip. I took it to my mechanic to do a quick lookover.

Sure enough, a problem with the rack and pinion leaking. So, I had the Rack and Pinion replaced (along with high pressure hose) for $700.

He looked the entire car over, and there are no surprises for the prospective new owner (it is tightened up like a button).

I hope it goes to a good home soon.

I brought the Convertible to Route 31 Auto Sales (in McHenry, IL) under consignment.... they are going to sell it for me. The dealership was impressed with the condition of the vert. This will also allow prospective buyers to finance the car (and to get a warranty for the car) as the dealership has access to such resources.

What it gets for me, is an open spot back in my driveway.

I'm praying it sells to an enthusiast.
