Default WTB 2007 Pt Cruiser Hood Support Rod

The little yellow rod that holds the hood up. My ex went to close the hood witht he support still in place. I really need a new one. If you have one or know a web site (I dont need chrome) I would be grateful!

That's the number one exact reason a lot of us installed hood struts. They are about $100 but well worth the money when you think of all the damage that could be done to the hood. Your lucky if the hood wasn't damaged when your ex went to shut it.


If you still want the "hood prop rod" you should be able to pick one up cheaply at a salvage yard. Any year PT will have one or look at one of the For Sale cars in the SALE section of this forum.

If he didn't crush it, there is a rubber grommet that holds it in. Just push the rod thru it.

Yes, very easy, no drilling requires. Uses the same holes that are already on the hood and body and some two sided tape. You can see and buy them from www.RaceandStreet.com

My bad, I read the question as if you asked about the rod obviously.
Like Crewzin said, the struts use existing holes in the fender and the hood.
