Curious, did the pin let go and knock a hole in the case? Heard several others this happening to and most were 03's

They've done this back to 1994, believe it or not.
They made it kit for it, dunno what year they started the install.

You can use a Neon trans, it'll almost certainly be a 3.55 instead of the PT's 3.94 final drive.

Yes that pin dropped and boom it went. I was shifting from 2 to 3rd. Good news is it was time to change out the timing belt and water pump. Having the trans out and being able to move the engine around made it easy.

Just picked up my trans today after getting the quaife lsd unstalled. The tech showed me the old differential and the pin. I was going to get mine tack welded so this wouldnt happen to mine but was very happy when he showed me that the quaife doesnt even use the pin setup like a stock unit.

Good luck on finding a replacement, in my area manual PT's are unicorns

Better to use the Differential Saver Tabs than weld; the tabs let pin full-float-
It'll still break when welded- Actually either way but tabs give an advantage

Quaiffe / OBX is cure- all
