Thanks! My factory intake hose broke so I was hoping to find a used cold air system.

Sadly, most of the "short" CAI's use the stock intake hose. K&N makes the Typhoon series that hook directly to the turbo. A few other companies do as well. None of those are very cheap and most are over $200.

A replacement turbo hose usually runs between $50 and $100 depending on the model. It may be cheaper to get a replacement and then use a short sub-$50 short CAI.

Here's what may be a replacement hose for your 2008 GT:

I just seen the stock hose on ebay and the short ram kit. I might go that route. Thanks!

just to let you know cone filters and CAI are almost all bullshit, they decrease your filtration efficiency reducing the life of your engine and also have no legitimate data to prove their improvement claims.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ but they sure sound GREAT !!!!!!

..and as far as decreasing the life of your engine, I've had one since the very beginning 16+ years and 120,000+ miles ago. Still runs as good as the day I bought it.

Why do they decrease your filtration efficiency? Because of the open element, or are you talking about gauze filters? There are plenty of factory paper element cone filters people adapt. The Honda S2000 uses one from the factory, that is the kind of thing I plan to adapt eventually.

look up filtration efficiency. it doesn't refer to the pressure drop the media creates, rather a percentage of contaminants prevented from being passed through.

Any filter that "lets more air in" also "lets more dirt in". Just how filtering works. The problem with aftermarket CAI on the PT, is that the stock air box actually has the coldest intake any system could offer and pulls air from under the fender behind the headlight. Any CAI system just pull from where the airbox sat, which is further from the fender's colder air and also allows engine heat to seep into the area. The noise from the CAI everyone loves is just present because a hard pipe with no baffles allows the noises of the engine to sound out of the intake. If you replaced the stock turbo pipe with a similar size pipe without the internal baffles, I guarantee you would get the same effect.

On my NA PT I fit a turbo upper intake to my air box, so as to delete the massive resonator and boy did it sound meaner (had to install a custom pipe to the throttle body because the turbo upper box has a larger opening).

If you can find me a pipe that fits the same location as the one handy linked, but is a solid pipe (with 1 rubber section for engine flex), and doesn't have baffles, I'd buy it today. I have not found any, and I'm not running out to make my own just yet.
