Default Looking for a PT GT (possibly woody?)

Hello all! I have been lurking the forums for awhile as I have recently fallen in love with the PT Cruiser GT. I have always loved the PT Cruiser style, but then when I learned about the turbocharged version, it really got me thinking! Is there anyone selling a PT GT Woody? If not, maybe just a PT Cruiser GT?
Just needs to have a clean record and lower mileage is always better! Anyway I'm near the Chicagoland area, but can drive further if needed. Let me know what y'all have! Thanks.

The woody never came in the GT. However, you could just buy the OEM parts and install them onto a GT, I believe. To begin your search, use autotempest.com .

Exclamation Re: Looking for a PT GT (possibly woody?)

You might be in luck IF you want a WOODY PT CRUISER.. (but it is not a GT edition as the GT was never available in a Woody model).. Personally, I was looking 2 weeks ago for a PT Cruiser and I found a Woody IN THE CHICAGO AREA for under $2000 with LOW miles too.. but I passed as I found a cruiser closer to where I live instead. ( I should have bought the Woody)... Look at Craigslist... That is where I found it.. Hopefully it is still available.. The body was also in GREAT shape and it is NOT easy to find the Original Woody edition... Good luck.. I hope this helped you

Welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!

I'm not sure what the official literature (if there is a thing) says about this. But I've seen several GT Woody's that appear to be OEM. It might have just been really good factory-like aftermarket woody kit. Or it might have been a special order option. But I've seen them either way.

What we know for sure is that factory GT Woody's are fairly rare. But many other GT's are very common. The very best year models will be 2004 and 2005. These years saw the most standard features on the GT and these along with the 2003 (transitional-lower hp) GT have the most available aftermarket accessories.

Finding low mileage on a PT GT may be hard. And it may actually be preferable to get one slightly over 100,000 miles. Because it's at this mileage that the timing belt needs to be changed. I would take a 110,000 mile GT with a new timing belt over a 70,000 mile GT any day of the week. Because that lower mileage PT will start running an increasing risk of timing belt failure as it approaches and passes 100,000 miles. And the cost of belt replacement can run $1,500 depending on your area of the country.

Here's a 2006 GT Woody. I don't think the wood panels are OEM. But they look pretty good. And it is a real GT. The 140 mph speedometer and Autostick shifter are visible.
