Default Mint 2004 Manual GT and a 2003 Manual Dreamcruiser 2

Not my ads, just passing along some Kijiji (like craigslist but more modern) finds. Both of these are located in Southern Ontario Canada.

First is a 2004 PT GT Manual with only 60,000Km (~37,000Mi) for $5000 CA ($4000 USD) Its being sold by a dealer but probably still some haggling room there:

2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Turbo 60,000 Km'S CERT/E-TESTED | used cars & trucks | London | Kijiji

The second one is a 2003 PT GT DreamCruiser 2 also with a Manual trans. This one needs some TLC but for only $1600 CAD ($1300 USD) it seems like an ok deal, Needs a windshield. Rockers may or may not have been repaired. I was actually interested in this car back in April when the asking price was $3400 at the time. I offered $1500 but he didn't want to let it go then. I have since moved on. If I didn't have 2 DC2's already I'd probably go get it still! lol One could probably get it for $1000 CAD now(800 USD) Maybe less!

2003 PT CRUISER 5 SPD TURBO $1600--TRADE- | used cars & trucks | Muskoka | Kijiji

Anyway just sharing as the Manual GT's are sort of rare!

Wow. The 2003 PT GT Dream Cruiser 2 with the Getrag 5-speed manual tranny is likely the VERY best PT Cruiser ever made. If I had time for a project car, that would be the one to buy if it's not rusty underneath. Add some newer injectors and an upgraded PCM, and the sky is the limit.

MUST...RESIST. MUST...NOT...CLICK..ON...LINK.....AHHHH!

Darn you, Mike!

Hahaha What are friends for? Come and get it!!

Because the car is from Southern Ontario, it will likely have little rust underneath. That part of the province is surrounded by the Great Lakes and those water bodies make for much milder winters than the rest of the province. The milder winters means much less salt used!

Yep.

As my daddy always said, never buy nothing that's been north of the Mason–Dixon.

Then there is the project car balance between worth & value and money pit.

Or the need to simply have a project that you will spend endless hours on and spend gobs of money never to get much return when you finally sell it?

I think I reached that point on our Cruiser a year ago?

Honestly, we all reach that point the first time we do just about anything to our PT's. At the moment, this is not the car to invest in if resale is your goal. Personally, I think the late C3 and C4 Corvettes are the place to invest right now. They are almost as dirt cheap as PT's. But they won't be forever.

But we are here on this site because we are PT enthusiasts. So it can't be about the car's worth. It's about "love" not money.

I see your reading skills still suck. Underneath being the key word. The rockers and rear wheel wells have been trouble areas for these cars just about everwhere.

Yup, I love my PT and for this car I don't mind wasting some money. It makes me happy. That is all that matters in the end.
