Denatured Alcohol as Wiper Fluid OK?

I have taken to cleaning my windows with the mix recommended on this site (2 oz Denatured Alcohol:30 oz water) and am *very* happy with the results. It got me to wondering,...is this mixture safe to use in the windshield washer reservoir instead of windshield washer fluid? I am not happy with the streaks the traditional blue fluid seems to be leaving when I use it to clean the windows.

Jack I would stick to the blue stuff under the hood. YOu have temp. issues to deal with. Glad you like my formula for glass. Gary

I use my washer fluid bottle for my water injection resivoir with about a third denatured alky, 2 thirds water. Had it that way for the last 5-6 months without any problems. I don't use it very often, just when the windows really dirty...otherwise I just drive around till I find a gas station with a squeegie
